  • Concluded that quantitative easing in the United States may not only lead to another financial crisis but may also weaken the US dollar’s role as the world’s most dominant reserve currency

Undergraduate Senior Thesis: “The Impact of Chinese FDI on Nigeria’s Economic Growth”

  • Conducted comprehensive interviews with officials at the Central Bank of Nigeria to gain their perspectives on Chinese FDI in Nigeria

  • Collected and analyzed economic data on real per capita GDP, FDI inflow from China, and level of openness, from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the National Bureau of Statistics

  • Presented findings of research in written and verbal format

  • Concluded that Chinese FDI does not have a significant impact on Nigeria’s economic growth

Chinese Independent Study: “The Impact of the European Crisis on the Chinese Economy”

  • Interviewed economics students, in Chinese, from Renmin University in Beijing, China, to attain their views on the European economic crisis

  • Utilized additional case studies in Chinese to make comparisons of China’s economic condition before and during the European debt crisis

  • Presented transcript of research in Mandarin to entire program student body
